Mission Statement
The following is a brief history of our company:
My (Dennis Grant) own career as a Manufacturer’s Representative began in Northern California in 1976, selling into the Security, Fire and Sound markets. In 1980, I relocated to Southern California to join the Ellard E. Strassner Company, (founded in 1930), which is where and when I met Carmen Bolduc. The Ellard E. Strassner Co. also specialized in representing manufacturers of Security, Fire and Sound products. Shortly, thereafter, Robin Friar joined our Team and we have continued working together for the better part of 20 years. With the exception of one year, Carmen and I have worked together since 1980. While there have been many changes that have taken place over this period of 24-plus years, somehow we have managed to maintain solid relationships with several of the manufacturers we represent, establishing an unparalleled level of continuity as much with those principals as with our clients.
In 1991 we both joined the Carlberg/Warren & Associates, a Southern California Manufacturer’s Representative firm where we represented such lines as Atlas Sound, West Penn Wire and TOA Electronics to name but just a few. When the partnership of Carlberg/Warren was dissolved a few years ago, Carmen and I elected to join Brad Warren, heading up the Southern Division office of the newly formed company, namely Warren Associates, Inc. Again, Robin Friar also elected to become a part of our team, thus keeping the trio together for over two decades.
In February of 2004, Carmen and I made the decision to purchase the Southern Division office from Brad Warren and we renamed it “Professional Sales, Inc.” For the most part, only the name changed. The core personnel group and the principals we represent have remained the same. However, we have added more technical staff that are NICET Certified in both Fire and Audio. Our primary objective is to grow and strengthen our Fire and Security Divisions. Since the beginning of the year, we have taken on several important Fire and Security lines. The company has grown significantly as more and more manufacturers become aware of Professional Sales, Inc., a relatively new company with decades of experience.
